Was Viserys a Good King in the “House of the Dragon”?

Was Viserys a Good King in the House of the Dragon

Was Viserys a Good King in the “House of the Dragon”? – King Viserys I Targaryen’s actions will have a significant impact on the action when House of the Dragon’s plot picks up speed. Paddy Considine had played King Viserys.

The major conflict in the House of the Dragon series is being caused by the King, who probably shouldn’t have been king in the first place, who named his daughter Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) as the successor to the Iron Throne, defying centuries of tradition because she is a woman. If you want to know that King Viserys is good ruler or not, keep reading below to know.

Who is King Viserys I Targaryen in House of the Dragon

Who is King Viserys I Targaryen in House of the Dragon?

HBO’s House of the Dragon is a new spin-off prequel to Game of Thrones. When we first encounter him in House of the Dragon, King Viserys I Targaryen, the fifth Targaryen king, is in charge of the Seven Kingdoms.

“A warm, generous, and decent guy, Viserys merely wishes to continue on his grandfather’s heritage,” according to HBO. “However, as we’ve seen from Game of Thrones, good men do not necessarily make for great kings.”

King Jaehaerys I Targaryen, the Old King (and Viserys’s grandfather), passed away before he could ever ascend to the Iron Throne, therefore he was selected by the lords of Westeros. Viserys is undoubtedly descended from noble stock because Jaehaerys was Aegon the Conqueror’s grandson, who united Westeros and created the Iron Throne.

All is not well in Viserys’ family because he wasn’t really expected to be the true heir to the throne, despite his attempts to carry on his grandfather’s incredibly prosperous – and mostly peaceful – rule of 50 years.

Despite the fact that Jaehaerys’s children were all died, his son, Prince Aemon Targaryen’s daughter named Princess Rhaenys Targaryen (Eve Best), who would have had a stronger claim to the throne if the right bloodline had been followed. The “Queen Who Never Was” was disfavored by the lords because she was a woman (although it was actually a popularity vote to prevent her son Laenor Velaryon, who isn’t entirely of Targaryen blood, from becoming king). It’s also obvious that House Velaryon is unhappy about being ignored.

To make matters worse, only the daughter Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (Milly Alcock, Emma D’Arcy) was born to King Viserys and his bride, Queen Aemma Arryn. He demands that the throne be transferred to a male, that would be the King’s next male family member, in light of the dubious methods used to secure Viserys’ ascension.

Was Viserys a Good King

Was Viserys a Good King?

Viserys can be considered a dormant king. He never done anything on House of the Dragon that deliberately upset his kingdom’s balance, essentially keeping things as they were. Overall, this is excellent for House Targaryen, but there is a case to be made that it amounts to providing the basic necessities and only avoiding confrontation rather than genuinely benefiting the populace.

Viserys was fortunate in that the country was in fine form when he became king, so all he had to do was keep it that way. In spite of this, it may be argued that his acts during the last decade his reign, such as marrying Alicent and designating Rhaenyra as his heir, did in fact pave the way for division and civil war, even though they did not directly incite violence or insurrection.

The Dance of the Dragons, a civil war between rival House Targaryen sects, is one of the crucial incidents that will be covered in more depth in upcoming seasons of House of the Dragon. Viserys will regrettably be remembered most for what actually took place while he was in power because of this. While he might not have been directly responsible for the Dance of Dragons, he was powerless to prevent it from turning into one of the bloodiest conflicts in Westeros history, which would have a lasting impact on many noble families, most notably House Targaryen. Even though Viserys is not exclusively to blame for the House Targaryen’s demise, the demise did start with him.

Is Viserys a horrible king after all this? Yes. Even though some could consider his decision to be more unlucky than others, he still didn’t offer the best. King Viserys is near the centre of the list of kings who have occupied the Iron Throne, possibly among the top half. His individual behaviour as a man, a husband, and a father finally caused discord and split within House Targaryen.

Otto Hightower and members of the Small Council aggressively planned to steal the throne behind Viserys’ back, as we witnessed in the season finale of House of the Dragon. Despite the fact that he governed during a period of peace, King Viserys was ultimately unable to ensure it for his replacement.

What Was Bill Paxton’s Net Worth at the Time of His Death? – American actor and director William Paxton made movies. Weird Science (1985), Aliens (1986), Near Dark (1987), Tombstone (1993), True Lies (1994), Apollo 13 (1995), Twister (1996), Titanic (1997), A Simple Plan (1998), Edge of Tomorrow (2014), and Nightcrawler were some of the movies he appeared in (2014).

Paxton portrayed the lead character in the HBO drama series Big Love (2006–2011), for which he received three Golden Globe Award nominations. For his performance as Randall McCoy in the History channel miniseries Hatfields & McCoys, he received nominations for both a Primetime Emmy Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award (2012).

How much was Bill Paxton worth when he died

Who Was Bill Paxton?

John Lane Paxton and Mary Lou (née Gray; 1926-2016) Paxton welcomed their son Bill to the world on May 17, 1955 in Fort Worth, Texas (1920–2011). His mother was a devout Roman Catholic who instilled her religion in him and his siblings. In addition to running a company, selling timber, running a museum, and occasionally acting, his father also starred with Bill Paxton in A Simple Plan and appeared with Sam Raimi in the Spider-Man movies (1998). Paxton had ancestors from Austria, the Netherlands, England, France, Norway, Scotch-Irish, Scotland, Switzerland, and Wales. His great-great-grandfather was Elisha Franklin Paxton (1828–1863), a Confederate brigadier general who died at the Battle of Chancellorsville while in charge of the Stonewall Brigade.

Paxton was the great-nephew of Mary Paxton Keeley, a well-known journalist and personal friend of Bess Truman. He was also distantly connected to the actress Sara Paxton. On the morning of November 22, 1963, when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated, he was eight years old and in the crowd as he left the Hotel Texas in Fort Worth. The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas, has pictures of Paxton being raised above the throng on exhibit. Later, he co-produced the movie Parkland, which is about the murder.

He attended Richmond College in London along with his former high school friend Danny Martin after graduating from Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth in 1973. They filmed Super 8 short films with Tom Huckabee, a fellow Texas native, for which they constructed their own sets. Following his relocation to Los Angeles, where he worked in the props and art departments, Paxton decided to change his career goals from directing to acting after being turned down by Southern California’s film schools.

What Was Bill Paxton’s Net Worth at the Time of His Death?

Paxton had a net worth of $25 million at the time of his passing in 2017 according to Celebrity Net Worth. The actor amassed wealth over the course of a 34-year career that began with bit parts in movies like Stripes, Commando, and The Terminator.

Paxton’s debut noteworthy performance was as Private William Hudson in the 1986 movie Aliens. He also worked on Weird Science, Slipstream, and Next of Kin in the 1980s.

The actor appeared in a large number of well-liked films in the 1990s, including some of the biggest blockbusters of the time. Paxton acted in the films Apollo 13, Predator 2, Tombstone, and True Lies. In the popular 1996 film Twister, he portrayed Bill “The Extreme” Harding. Paxton worked with director James Cameron four times, the last time playing Brock Lovett in the box office smash Titanic.

Paxton continued to work until his death in 2017 and throughout the 2000s. In popular TV shows and movies including Big Love, Hatfields & McCoys, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Nightcrawler, and Edge of Tomorrow, he played prominent roles. In April 2017, a postmortem version of his final work, The Circle, starring Tom Hanks and Emma Watson, was made available.

Bill Paxton’s Net Worth

In light of the “Twister” sequel, fans mourn Bill Paxton’s passing.

Twister, Paxton’s success from 1996, will have a sequel, according to Deadline. Helen Hunt will play Dr. Jo Harding once more in the upcoming movie, which will centre on her life and the daughter she had with Bill Harding, played by actor Bill Paxton. Fans are saddened by the news of a sequel and regret Paxton’s passing. Many point out that without him, the sequel won’t feel the same.

One Reddit user commented,

I mean the first is fun, but a lot of what made it work is Bill Paxton’s natural, everyman charisma. Not to discredit the rest of the very talented cast, but Paxton was the real heart of that movie, and without him not sure it will work. Twister‘s one of my favorite 90s nostalgia comfort movies,” another Redditor added. “But I don’t see how there’s any way a modern sequel could be good. *Maybe* if they made one when Bill Paxton was still around.”

Is Shantaram’s Kavita Based on a Real-Life Journalist?

Is Shantaram’s Kavita Based on a Real Journalist

Is Shantaram’s character, Kavita Based on a Real Journalist? – Based on Gregory David Roberts’ novel of the same name, Shantaram is an American drama-thriller television series created by Eric Warren Singer and Steve Lightfoot. The plot, which centres on an Australian bank robber who escapes to India, was inspired by Roberts’ own life. The twelve episodes of the series will be helmed by Justin Kurzel and Bharat Nalluri.

After Eric Warren Singer left the project, Steve Lightfoot was brought in to serve as the showrunner. It was distributed by Apple Inc. for their streaming service, Apple TV+, and was made by Fair Honest Positive Creative, The 4 Keys, Bohemian Risk Productions, Square Head Productions, Anonymous Content, and Paramount Television Studios. On October 14, 2022, the television series debuted.

Kavita is a young journalist looking for a fresh angle, played by Sujaya Dasgupta. People are curious as to whether or not Kavita, the persona, is based on an actual journalist. Let’s investigate.

Is Kavita Based on a Real Journalist

Is Kavita Based on a Real-Life Journalist?

The 936 page novel Shantaram, based on Gregory David Roberts’ work, has a flimsy gripping quality. The story of heroin addict and bank robber Dale (Charlie Hunnam) is told in Shantaram, which is set in 1980s Bombay. Dale escapes horrific torture and beatings at Pentridge Prison in Victoria, Australia, and ends himself in Bombay. According to the book’s official website, Roberts stated that most of the characters in the novel have “even a remote similarity to any genuine person I’ve ever known,” therefore it is reasonable to infer that Kavita is a fictitious character rather than the equivalent of any specific real journalist. Kavita, or any other character in the programme or the original novel for that reason, feels realistic for a reason.

In the words of Gregory David Roberts, “Characters can be actual individuals in this universe, but that’s really a form of photography in writing art.” It isn’t the genuine creation of a personality from scratch, complete with defects and virtues… The type of character we’re discussing here is real; it’s not a two-dimensional image, a cartoon, or something made up in your head for a quick joke. People may believe that a character is genuine even when they aren’t if you “follow all the steps, give them a deep biography, and imbue them with enough reality from things you actually know and have truly lived.”

Based on Gregory David Roberts’ statements, Kavita might be a made-up person who stands in for actual persons who sought to learn the truth about the author’s time spent in Bombay. Following his prison break, Roberts was in Bombay, just like Lin. There may have been individuals whose activities put Roberts’ safety in Bombay at danger by almost outing the fact that he was a wanted man. Roberts may have drawn inspiration for the character Kavita from his interactions with such individuals.

Roberts might have imagined Kavita in order to up the drama and tension in the novel’s plot. Roberts was successful in capturing Lin’s concerns of being discovered through Kavita. The reporter Kavita not only awakens Lin’s worries of being imprisoned once more, but also serves as a reminder that he is simply a runaway in exile. Given that Roberts sees “Shantaram” as a book on the “exile experience,” it’s possible that the author purposefully invented Kavita to show how Lin is always made to feel like an outsider.

When Will Shantaram Be Released?

On Friday, October 14, 2022, the first three episodes of Shantaram’s 12-episode first season will run, followed by one new episode every Friday until December 16, 2022.

Apple TV+ is currently streaming Shantaram.

Death Note will be parodied by “The Simpsons” in an anime-style episode

Death Note will be parodied by "The Simpsons" in an anime-style episode

The Simpsons will continue the custom of producing a special episode for Halloween in Season 34, The showrunners chose to split the horror celebration into two parts, the first of which was a complete spoof of Stephen King’s It that aired last week. But The Simpsons also made an unexpected choice for the customary Treehouse of Horror XXXIII“: It adopted an anime aesthetic to parody the hugely popular anime series Death Note.

The Simpsons will soon feature a Death Note parody, following a recent parody of Stephen King’s It in which Krusty the Clown was transformed into Pennywise. A future episode of The Simpsons will mimic Death Note in an anime style. Homer (Dan Castellaneta), Marge (Julie Kavner), Lisa (Yeardley Smith), and Bart (Nancy Cartwright) all have new looks in the FOX photos as they change into recognizable spiky-haired anime characters.  A sample video is provided below.

A little teaser clip that was posted online depicts a disgruntled Lisa becoming disenchanted with the extent of the world’s pollution and animal abuse. Then a curious book appears out of nowhere and rests at her feet. Any person whose name is listed in this “Death Tome” will meet their death…and be DEAD, according to the book’s opening pages. “You may not kill the same way twice, and you must describe how the victim will die.” Which names will Lisa inscribe on the notebook for murder?

Additionally, three photos from The Simpsons’ Death Note spoof have been made public, featuring additional Springfield characters from the animated series. Disco Stu is seen in one shot from the Treehouse of Horror episode, and there may even be a glimpse of anime Ned Flanders in the background, while Homer and Marge are first seen in the same visual style in another frame.

A South Korean animation company called DR Movie, which also created the original Death Note anime series, animated the upcoming episode. The Treehouse of Horror special will also be “packed” with Easter eggs, claims Simpsons writer Carolyn Omine.

The episode, titled Treehouse Of Horror XXXIII, will include three distinct parts. The Death Note special Death Tome will be the second, followed by The Pookadook, a tribute to The Babadook, and Simpsonsworld, a spoof of Westworld.

This Sunday, October 30,Treehouse of Horror XXXIII” from The Simpsons will premiere on FOX.

Sean will work with Intelligence on a case involving a human trafficking organization in his first episode, which air on October 19 episode 5 of season 10 with the title Pink Cloud.  On Yellowstone, Jimmy played by White was last seen returning to Texas after leaving the Dutton ranch behind, with John Dutton (Kevin Costner) giving him permission to make that decision. However, Jimmy is a member of the Season 5 cast, raising the possibility that something will bring him back.

Chicago PD explores the character’s journey as Jefferson White

Upton will take the stage in this week’s Chicago PD episode when she collaborates with her team to locate a missing girl. When the squad discovers that the disappearance is associated with a human trafficking ring, Chief O’Neal is forced to use his personal resources to solve the case. Sean, the Chief’s son, steps in at this point to assist Upton in solving the case using his network.

Actor Jefferson White remarked in a TVline interview on Sean’s significance in the case,

According to White, who spoke to TVLine, “He’s got access to communities that don’t necessarily trust the CPD because of the history and tension,” White explained to TVLine. Sean’s relationship with his father is much better after he fought his addiction and now helps others who are dealing with what he did.

Sean struggled with addiction his entire life, which made his connection with his father problematic. But after he changed his life around and committed to serving the community and assisting people who are struggling like he was, that began to improve. In Chicago PD Season 10 Episode 5, Sean will spend the majority of his time assisting Upton, who is also having difficulties as a result of her husband Halstead leaving the country for a job. In an interview with CinemaBlend, showrunner Gwen Sigan contrasted the bond between Voight and Anna, who passed away in the Season 4 finale, to that of Sean and the Chief.

“It will probably be very similar to last season where we had Anna, and her storyline really became serialized, and I would say probably six episodes of it. We’ll do a very similar thing this season. We’ve got some great standalones and great cases that we solve… [O’Neal] will be coming back quite a bit in the first half of the season, as well as his son, who is played by Jefferson White. We’re very excited to have both of them.”

We will discover a lot more about Chief O’Neal, the showrunner Gwen Sigan promised TV Insider.

We’ll learn about his family. We’ll learn about where he comes from and how that differs from Voight [Jason Beghe] and how’s that the same from Voight. Their relationship evolves quite a lot in the front end of the season, and it’s been really fun to write.”

Who is Jefferson White?

Actor Jefferson White, who was born in Iowa, is most known for his roles in several television shows. In addition to Manhattan (2014), he has appeared in Yellowstone (2018), and The Twilight Zone (2019). Sean will be his most recent portrayal on Chicago PD. He Jefferson White is a ranch hand at Yellowstone who also enjoys riding broncos in his spare time. During the fourth season, he left Yellowstone to become a member of the 6666.

An Analysis and Comparison of The Black Phone with Mr. Harrigan's Phone

This year, short story adaptations by Stephen King and Joe Hill were published. Here are some ways in which they are alike and dissimilar. In this comparison and analysis, we will be looking at Mr. Harrigan’s Phone as well as the Black Phone.

The majority of October’s Netflix releases are horror-related in anticipation of the spookiest night of the year, and one of the most eagerly awaited titles, Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, just came out. The new film is based on a short tale written by none other than Stephen King, the reigning horror king. King’s son Joe Hill, who is also a writer, had The Black Phone, an adaptation of his own short story, published in 2022.

The King family has a tremendously inventive imagination for horror and thrillers, there is no disputing that. Even earlier, the father and son worked together to write books and novellas, including the book Sleeping Beauties. Given that they share many similarities while yet being vastly different, it is intriguing that both films were released in the same year.. Their unique understandings of horror, mood, and tone further highlight the differences between the two stories. There is no better way to get into the Halloween spirit than by seeing new horror films, particularly those made by this family. Here are comparisons and analyses of both movies, along with suggestions on which to see based on your preferences.

Mr. Harrigan’s phone and the black phone Story

It is important to have a general understanding of these films’ themes before delving into what elements they share and where they differ. Finney (Mason Thames), a little boy who is abducted by a serial murderer known as The Grabber (Ethan Hawke), must escape before he becomes one of the victims of the great Black Phone. Finney obtains assistance from a broken black phone in the dark cellar where he is being imprisoned, as well as the paranormal assistance of his sister, who has the ability to predict events through her dreams. He can make escape plans and contact The Grabber’s murdered prior victims over this phone. A young teen named Craig (played by Jaeden Martell, who is familiar with Stephen King’s adaptations for the big screen because he was in IT) is the subject of Mr. Harrigan’s Phone. Since talking over the phone is easier for them to do, Craig has worked for the elderly billionaire Mr. Harrigan (Donald Sutherland) for a few years. Sadly, the billionaire passes away. However, before they bury him, Craig puts the phone in his coat, ensuring that they would stay in touch even after they are gone. (Spikytv.com)

Difference between The Black Phone Movie and Mr. Harrigan’s Phone

An Analysis and Comparison of The Black Phone with Mr. Harrigan's Phone

There are some components that are identical in the synopses alone, but the tone and approach to these themes are entirely different. It is crucial to note that they have extremely varying age ratings, which can significantly affect how horrifying and graphic the content is. The Black Phone is a far grislier, more horrifying, and unsettling movie. There are many topics that are shared by both films. Both of the young male characters in the stories have lost their moms and are still struggling with grief and parentlessness, but the father in The Black Phone is abusive while the other is doing his best to keep things together. The bullying that both children experience is depicted with a lot of physical and psychological brutality, and the bullies’ seeming lack of consequences is also highlighted (at least until they are too severe). Both of the characters struggle with loneliness since they lack friends (particularly in the Netflix film, as Finney has a sister he is close to in The Black Phone) or other people they feel comfortable relying on.

It was a wonderful coincidence that both films tackled the concept of maintaining a link with the deceased through the use of a phone. Another necessity is to beg the assistance of those who have passed away; this is a little more macabre than the previous requirement, but it is nonetheless necessary. Finney waits a while before requesting assistance from the ghosts of The Grabber’s other victims. It makes sense because the movie gruesomely depicts the aftermath of the violence they endure and what will happen to Finney if he doesn’t flee, and he genuinely sees their ghosts and is horrified. Craig, meanwhile, doesn’t see Mr. Harrigan at all, therefore it is much simpler for Craig to seek for assistance when he needs it.

The concept of getting even and being able to avenge the deceased is another subject that attracts a lot of very varied points of view. In The Black Phone, the murdered children exact some form of vengeance while also discussing how to deter the perpetrator from committing similar murders in the future. In Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, the youngster who is still alive exacts revenge on the deceased.

In Harrigan’s and Black Phone, horror and drama clash.

It seems sensible that anything that originates from a Stephen King short story is automatically associated with the horror subgenre. However, that couldn’t be further from the truth in the instance of Mr. Harrigan’s Phone. The author’s tale is one of his or her most upbeats, and the few and brief instances of horror are quite rare. Additionally, it looks that the PG-13 designation has established a safety net that prevents the director from delving as deeply into the terror as Scott Derrickson did in The Black Phone. Though for very different reasons, both films are enjoyable. The Black Phone is the one to watch if you want a more unsettling horror that will make you jump out of your seat. But if you’re searching for a more dramatic and emotional tale with a strong message of hope rather than one that focuses on being frightful, Mr. Harrigan’s Phone would be the one to choose. Depending on who you want on the other end of the phone, you can dial either number to get into the Halloween spirit.
