This holiday season, Downton Abbey fans have a great reason to watch on ITV. Watch Downton Abbey: A New Era tonight (December 25) at 9 PM on ITV and again at 10 PM on ITV+1. It is the second movie in the popular series.
The movie, which came out in 2022, is about the Crawley family’s hot trip to the south of France to find out what happened when the Dowager Countess got a villa as an unexpected gift. The movie is a great follow-up to the 2019 movie and the six-season TV show.
Catching Up on Downton Abbey
You can watch seasons 1–6 of the original show on Netflix for free with a subscription if you want to relive the good times. On top of that, you can stream or rent the first Downton Abbey movie on —ITVX and Prime Video.
Unfortunately, you can’t stream A New Era for free right now. You can buy it through Apple TV+ for £7.99 or rent it on Prime Video for £3.99. But tonight’s show on ITV is a great chance for fans to watch the latest adventures of the Crawley family again without having to pay anything.
Anticipating the Next Installment—
Fans won’t have to wait much longer to see more of the Crawley family. The third Downton Abbey movie will be released in theaters on September 12, 2025. Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery and Maggie Smith will all play the same roles in the movie. Some of the most interesting new actors in the new movie are Paul Giamatti, Joely Richardson
and Alessandro Nivola.
