The Duke of Death and His Maid Season 2 Episode 2 Recap

In The Duke of Death and His Maid Season 2 Episode 2, Alice suggests that Bocchan should play golf to become more active. She teaches him how to play, but Bocchan is constantly distracted from the game by the caddie’s advances. In the meantime, Viola asks Walter if she might practice makeup application on him. With Viola’s assistance, Walter devises a scheme to trick Bocchan by dressing as a girl after being inspired by the outcomes. Their efforts had no effect on Bocchan, though.

Later, Zain gives Bocchan a present that transports him to a fantasy world where he can live out his fantasies. When Alice joins him, she learns that his greatest goal is to wed her. She doesn’t tell him about this revelation, though.

In the episode’s climax, Daleth, a witch, summons Bocchan and he finds himself in an unfamiliar setting. She discloses that his true self is unconscious right now, and she asks him to convince Zain, who possesses powerful magic abilities, to activate them once more. Daleth is looking for someone strong enough to manipulate time, and she thinks Zain can be of assistance. In exchange, she gives Bocchan the phone number of another witch who might be able to lift his spell.

Zain recalls a horrible event from his past in the meantime. He and Cuff’s parents were attacked by human witch-hunters when they were little. Zain attempted to use time magic to resurrect Cuff’s parents, but was unsuccessful, which caused him to hate magic ever since. It will now be interesting to see if Bocchan can persuade Zain to use magic once more, as well as any possible repercussions.
