Netflix has given fans a preview of what’s to come when the Avatar: The Last Airbender heats up once more. The streaming giant recently shared a picture from Season 2 of Gordon Cormier dressed as Aang and with his trademark haircut. As work speeds up, the picture shows how much attention to detail is being paid. Cormier is ready to continue his journey as the Avatar. It’s a blatant indication that while the live-action adaption prepares for its next chapter, Aang and his friends’ exploits are far from done.
The timing of the tweet, which stated, “The Avatar is so ready for Season 2,” couldn’t have been more ideal. In March of last year, Netflix revealed that the live-action version will receive a third season as well as a second, guaranteeing a comprehensive ending to this grand journey. In Season 2, the most anticipated new development is the arrival of Toph, the blind and fiercely independent earthbender. Toph, portrayed by Miya Cech, is expected to challenge Aang as his earthbending teacher and upend the group dynamic.
