To win the game and get back to their modern lives, they have to work together to figure out who the werewolves are in a village from the Middle Ages.

Where Was Family Pack Filmed?

Family Pack was filmed during the summer of 2023 under its French title Les Loups Garous de Thiercelieux,. Filming for Family Pack took place in many places in the Czech Republic, which gave the stories their beautiful visuals and historic backdrops. Filmmakers used real-life and fictional settings to create the perfect medieval world, which made the fantasy adventure feel real and immersive.

1. Prague, Czech Republic

The production took place primarily in and around Prague, Czech Republic, with key locations. Prague, which is known for its beautiful architecture and long history, was the perfect place for both the medieval and modern scenes in the movie. The medieval story felt more real when it was filmed in the city’s historic center, with its cobblestone streets and gothic buildings that capture the spirit of the time.

2. Barrandov Studios, Prague:

The famous Barrandov Studios is where many of the movie’s most important scenes were filmed. The medieval village set— which was originally made for the TV show Knightfall, was used to show the made-up town where the family ends up after being sent back in time. This set made it possible for the elaborate costumes, special effects, and action-packed scenes that gave Family Pack its thrilling feel to happen.

3. Drevníky, Zduchovice and Výsluní u Chomutova

More filming took place outside of the studio in the beautiful towns of — Drevníky, Zduchovice, and Výsluní u Chomutova. The medieval scenes felt more real because of these small Czech villages, which gave the movie a real rural feel.

François Uzan, the director talked about how the movie was made and how choosing to shoot in the Middle Ages brought the adventure to life. He said, “We could have put teens in a house like in Scream or imagined a game of social massacre happening in a Haussmann living room, but we chose to make it an adventure and family movie with humor and, of course, thrills.” The filmmakers made a beautiful movie for fans by using real-life medieval sets and staying true to the spirit of the original Werewolves of Miller’s Hollow game.
