Production Weekly has confirmed that the huge streaming service has ordered this one-of-a-kind relationship drama, just in time for the holiday season next year. With a holiday setting, ‘The Last Christmas’ will follow a married couple as they go through the difficult process of getting a divorce right before—Christmas.
Filming is set to begin in Toronto, Ontario from February 3 to March 12, 2025. A crew will be there to make the snowy city the setting for this holiday-themed story of conflict and self-discovery. The project’s premise promises a new take on holiday movies that isn’t just about happy reunions or new romances, but the cast information is still a secret.
The Last Christmas Plot; A Christmas Divorce Story
The story is about a couple named Kate and Everett who decide to end their marriage as Christmas approaches. They agree to follow a plan they call the “honesty policy” to keep things open and polite during their separation so that they can be good parents to their kids.
