Who created M3GAN?
Gemma feels completely unprepared to become a parent. She is heard admitting in the teaser that she doesn’t even tend to her own plants. She has also been under strain at work as she creates M3GAN, a lifelike doll that is meant to be both a child’s best friend and a parent’s best ally. As she develops into the child she is attached to’s companion, teacher, playmate, and protector, M3GAN is able to observe, listen, and learn. She was created to be the ideal toy to prevent a youngster from ever experiencing loneliness or melancholy. It probably goes without saying that any and all homicidal rampages were not intended to occur. One day, Gemma makes the decision to connect Cady with her current prototype in order to tackle both issues. Things appear positive at first. They interact by playing, dancing, high-fiving, and “building emotional bonds that are too difficult to unravel.” Gemma even claims that M3GAN is now a member of the family at one point.
Does M3GAN hurt Katie?
When Gemma makes Gemma eat the veggie toppings on her pizza, things go awry. According to M3GAN, research shows that making a youngster eat healthier foods makes them less likely to continue eating such foods as an adult. In response, Gemma turns the android off, something M3GAN doesn’t appear to like. She is then seen saying, “I thought we were having a conversation,” to Gemma in a voice that is obviously enraged.
The doll then appears to be taking her mission of shielding Katie from harm—both physical and emotional—a little too seriously. After pushing what appears to be a bully in front of a moving car, she declares, “I won’t let anything damage you.” The odd way M3GAN is depicted pursuing humans will undoubtedly cause horror moviegoers to think of Gabriel (Ray Chase) from Malignant, a James Wan horror film Cooper also co-wrote.
