Based on the same-named trilogy of Jenny Han’s novels, The Summer I Turned Pretty is an American coming-of-age romantic drama television series that Jenny Han wrote for Amazon Prime Video.
The three-episode Season 2 debut of The Summer I Turned Pretty sent Belly and Conrad fans on an emotional rollercoaster. The two made the decision to give dating a try, and things got off to a fantastic start. Isabel “Belly” Conklin (Lola Tung) and Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney) should put their budding romance on hold, however, as a result of Jeremiah’s justifiable rage when Belly went to tell him the truth about their relationship. “The Summer I Turned Pretty” Season 2 Episode 3 titled “Love Sick,” takes place on Belly’s prom night. She is meant to go out with Conrad, but he is grumpy and forgets to bring her a bouquet. Belly discovers that Conrad’s heart is no longer in their relationship when they go outdoors to chat. He is outraged that the doctor changed his mother’s medicine, which suggests that the underlying cause is his battle with her deteriorating health. Conrad and Belly break up, with Belly returning the necklace that served as a symbol of their union.
Soon after, Rachel Blanchard‘s Susannah Fisher’s burial is held, and Conrad dedicates a song to his mother in front of everyone. Conrad and Belly share a touching moment as their eyes lock, but something goes awry in the wake. Conrad’s head resting on another woman’s lap is seen by Belly, who is extremely saddened by it. Conrad reads something on his phone, though, that has a significant impact on him. Steven chases after him to the beach out of fear for his safety.
