Is Javi Dead Or Alive?
Javier De La Torre has been portrayed as a loyal and strong-willed man throughout the series, who is willing to risk his life for the good cause. The part where he tried to deflate the bomb was an act of bravery which could have prevented many deaths. But as the episode cuts away to the explosion, viewers are left with the agonizing question: That’s it for Javi?
The show has always been frank about living conditions in an icy world, and losing Javi would be not only a loss to viewers and the cast. This series is not shy of making hard decisions in terms of storytelling and Javi’s death may be yet another example of such decisions.
This means as Snowpiercer heads into its final episodes the stakes could not be much higher. As to the final scene with Javi whether he escapes the explosion or not, his decision in Episode 8 will affect the rest of the group’s survivors greatly.
