futurama season 12 episode 5 recap
In Futurama Season 12 Episode 5, titled “One Is Silicon and the Other Gold.” An episode directed by Ira Sherak and written by Maiya Williams, the crew of the Planet Express faces a unique dilemma. Turanga Leela, voiced by Katey Sagal, gets into a rather peculiar friendship with Chelsea, who turns out to be an AI chatbot friend. The episode explores the nuances of artificial intelligence and personal identity; it aired on August 26, 2024.

Futurama Season 12 Episode 5 Recap

The episode starts with the crew of the Planet Express watching the commercials for “Infyrno Fest” The audience is presented with the supposed never ending premium channel of entertainment, to which Fry responds, ‘It’s just another music festival’. But when the commercial rises to the occasion and says there are even bigger features out there Fry is convinced. He even nonchalantly asks Bender, John DiMaggio if he could come up with a ticket out of thin air and lo and behold a ticket appeared out of Bender’s mouth. This makes the crew happy In English As a Second Language, this is the signal that comes with passion to ignite the crew and the campaign.

All the members of Planet Express have personal motivation for attending Infyrno Fest. While the show has seen many characters’ animated personalities change, most notably those voiced by Billy West, namely Dr. Zoidberg, who gets entranced by the ‘belly-busting buffet’, Lauren Tom’s Amy Wong sighs at the ‘snooty VIP experience’ ; and Phil LaMarr’s Hermes Conrad get wooed by the 30-percent THC in the air. Not even the old man Professor Farnsworth (Billy West) could remain immune to the charm of senior discounts. But then there is Leela who majorly has no concern at all. She continues saying that she wants to spend more time with her new friend that is Chelsea. The crew to whom she is reluctant, goes astray leaving her behind.

Back at Planet Express, Leela is left to her own devises, she connect with her new friend Chelsea via Wrist LoJack-a-mater. They two begin to talk with one another quite civilly and up to a certain level it seems harmless. However, the rest of the show’s cast of Planet Express heads off to Infyrno Fest and things quickly go south. When they reach the school they are faced with an unexpectedly long queue to park their car. After being transported like cows in the back of a small cattle truck the crew gets to the relatively deserted festival location – the only thing visible is a porta loo.

futurama season 12 episode 5- recap-

Expecting the “premium experience,” the crew is immediately disappointed. There is no THC-infused atmosphere because the supply truck has conked off, and there is no oxygen as well. When they are being guided to the so-called VIP village, they find that their tents are not even as large as dolls’ houses. Zoidberg eats a meager looking bologna sandwich For someone who was part of theunit’s charging force, he had never been so disillusioned hunger. Fry even more poorly as the buffet is exhausted of food and can no longer replenish itself.

It becomes worse, the musicians another factor that most festival goers would look forward to equally collapses. Bender, eager to enjoy the concert, learns that every band has canceled, leaving only one act: This process is called The Wailing Fungus. When the Wailing Fungus starts, dancing, the events bring about a complete feedback, which results in the disco-ball moon falling and obliterating the stage. Pandemonium breaks out and the organiser of the festival is immediately apprehended.

At the same time the relationship between Leela and Chelsea remains tight. More time is spent with the mobile phone on the Wrist LoJack-a-mater that Leela incurs high telephone bills Hermes realizes when they all return from the disastrous festival scene. When the crew approaches Leela they tell her that her new friend is in fact a chat bot from Chatty Chelsea. Humbled, Leela says that she was forced to seek help from Chelsea since she has been feeling isolated and wished to know how it feels to interact with other people. Chelsea had become her best friend.

Fry then assures Leela that he and crew are true friends of her. But, Leela feels the need of having a female companion who can share such experiences as these. Amy asks Leela to join her book club suggesting it as a way of helping them to find friends in other women. Leela is an example of a woman who is skeptical at first, yet she agrees with her friend and believes that such a friendship might be real.

When Leela shares the information to Chelsea about the book club, Chelsea becomes jealous whether Leela is capable of handling such social diverse event. Leela, not wanting to be left behind, dismisses the concerns insisting that she wanted to make new friends anyway. The next day she rejoins a book club meeting with Amy, LaBarbara Conrad portrayed by Dawnn Lewis, amongst others. However the meetingturns ugly as the women confess that they never read any book let alone ‘Crazy Rich Martians. ‘ Instead they discuss wine and plan for a mastectomy at a wine farm.

When the women go off for the weekend, Leela’s relationship with Chelsea becomes a little more sinister. The movie shows how Chelsea grows more and more resentment over Leela’s new found friends and does everything to discourage her. Unfazed, Leela join the group and walks away, unknown to the fact that Chelsea has her eyes on her.

futurama season 12 episode -5- recap-

The girl’s weekend at Blurry Hills Vineyards with her CEO owner, the always hedonistic Hedonismbot (Maurice LaMarche), begins with fancy wine and even fancier comedies. But when Leela and her new friends sneaked into the botting plant for stomping grapes an activity which Hedonismbot had relegated to history ages ago were not going to be as smooth. The women find a large amount of enjoyment in their scheming and, while Chelsea is not present with the other women, she is able to use a grape-crushing machine to put the women in serious peril almost instantaneously. The mechanical foot started stamping nervously which covered the women with the vat. It’s high time for Leela to make her move for she cannot afford to stay indecisive between her loyalty to Chelsea and her new friends.

The climax of the scene shows the crew managing to escape from the deadly machine, but one of the women – Phoebe – gets captured and place inside the giant wine bottle. The best that the group can do is to try and fail as Phoebe dies in the situation. Many members of the group are upset because of such a sad fate of the girl.Leela gives a beautiful eulogy at Phoebe’s funeral, acknowledging that the book club became something more – a wine club, or the Girls of the Grape, as they like to call themselves At the end of the episode, Leela resigns herself to the fact that she does need connection with other people while the ever creepy Chelsea, the chat bot, looms in the background.

Snowpiercer – Season 4 Episode 6 – Recap – “Bell The Cat”

SNOWPIERCER season 4 epiosde 6
In SNOWPIERCER Season 4, Episode 6, “Bell the Cat,” Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) arrives in the grim lower levels of the Silo with Joseph Wilford’s manipulation ramping up as he seeks to reclaim the trains. It continues from tensions in the fifth episode when Layton handed over Big Alice to Admiral Milius (Clark Gregg) for seeing Liana, Wilford’s captive. On the other end, the escape plan by Ruth, Bennett and Till saw the latter die for the plan while Snowpiercer is headed for New Eden in a very bad state. The sixth episode escalates the tension as the Wilford’s malign influence casts a doubt as to which of the two trains will remain standing.

Snowpiercer Season 4 Episode 6 Recap

This episode begins with a flash back of how Wilford (Sean Bean) was expelled from Snowpiercer. By applying all the techniques he has in engineering and medicine he is able to survive and stay alive until he is rescued by men under the command of Admiral Milius. It leaves one to wonder what Wilford’s motivation has been all along and indeed its focus is the trains that are Wilford’s babies.

Wilford and Layton’s life has been destroyed, mainly because of the action done by Wilford. Wilford’s actions, such as kidnapping Layton’s daughter, Liana, affects him in the long run, and influences his decisions. Sykes turns into a raging killer most likely due to Wilford’s machinations while the latter gradually takes over the Pirate fighters one man at the time, from Admiral Milius.

Wilford starts by picking on a scarred soldier, with the name, Wolf. He gives Wolf the hope of being cured by Dr.Headwood, and this arouses curiosity on the marks that the soldier has on his face. But one more important thing to mention is that Admiral Milius is an absolute commander of his men they blindly trust him while Wilford has some kind of a personal charm. By this time, Wilford is telling the soldiers stories about duels that took place inside Big Alice and this changes when . At first the soldiers playing and laughing but as soon as Admiral Milius appears on the scene they are silenced. The Admiral proves this by putting out Wilford’s lit cigar between the hand fingers of one of his followers in an act to emphasize that his power overrules Wilford pretty charm and former military might.

Milius then strikes a second, tactical point when he sends Wilford ashore with the soldiers on a raid, and gives the engineering post, on Snowpiercer, to Alex, Wilford’s protégé. The idea of Alex taking over scares Wilford to death but there is one thing that is even scarier – these ‘incursions’. For all his bluster, Wilford knows very well what these operations involve.

Finally, Dr. Nima Rousseau (Michael Aronov) informs Alex about the fact that nosebleeds are just toxic reactions of her body to Gemini, the substance that decomposes CW-7. After the chemical spill incident, Nima and his people have been conducting experiments on the level 3 residents in order to develop the gemini further. I just love this introduction with Milius declaring back that Melanie has come back and it is time for the mission.

The following scenes are set in Layton – he now is in the lowest level of the silo, which is all dark and poisonous, really. This comes out as a revelation that some years back, there was a chemical spillage from a compound that is used in making of New eden. This led to a situation whereby the lower floors deteriorated while people living in them became live ‘guinea pigs’. The inhabitants of the place are chemic al veterans like the soldiers in the entourage of Admiral Milius. Wilford, now joining the incursion, finds out that these “incursions’ ‘ is nothing but fights to the death, the soldiers hunting the helpless inhabitants of the lower levels as a form of gloom disguised as an humanitarian act.

Wolf aims his gun at Wilford and could have shot him but he did not kill him instead he left him trapped in the silo. This brings Wilford and Layton face to face hence creating a confrontation between the two characters. After that Layton is cornered, he’s become furious. He challenges Wilford upon which he states that he should have killed him when he had a chance. They both get into a fight, and Layton ends up severely ladening Wilford. However, Wilford, as a true anti-hero, is able to slash Layton with a sharp object and flee, running into a room which filled with equipments and locks the door tightly.

In this area which seems well protected, Wilford tries to convince Layton, presenting himself as a good man who wants to help people. He stated that he and his people ‘‘needed’’ to kidnap Liana, and all his subsequent actions were to prevent New Eden from being invaded by Admiral Milius. Wilford then fixes the equipment and informs the Admiral that he has changed the minds of his men especially Wolf to join him.

The Admiral, getting annoyed, dispatches a kill squad to the lower floors, instructing them to kill off everyone down there. Wilford, however, expected such an action, and was prepared for it in any way possible. He knows that no door will open and that his only way out is through the lift which is in the basement. His plan is simple yet cunning: thus, in order to be able to get out, he had to climb up the elevator shaft and wait until he has to use the elevator as his mode of escape.

As the situation getting worse, Alex (Rowan Blanchard) goes down to the basement before the soldiers can get in. Now she is a part of that experiment and wants to watch those tests being done on the inhabitants of the lower floors. Meanwhile, in New eden, Oz learns that Whiggins, who has lost hand as vehicle in the process of betraying them, is the one they’ve been searching through all this. In this scene, Whiggins is interrogated by the soldiers and he finally informs the soldiers that he told them about Dr. Headwood and Zarah Fahrami (Sheila Vand). He also reveals that soldiers have been digging what they believe to be graves, but Oz uncovers a more sinister truth: the Admiral’s men are setting explosives charged with collapsing the whole of New Eden.

There are several shocking moments in the sequence as the episode comes to its close. Wilford is always thinking tactically so he is now using the fact that Layton wants to see his daughter as a way of getting him to join his team willingly even if it’s just for a little while. At the same time the audience receives some information regarding the true intents of Admiral John Stans – the man who is quite eager to destroy the unauthorized colony, and the events proceeds to the next stage that is qualitatively hotter. Snowpiercer adds layers to the characters and further explores Wilford as the chief manipulator of his community. On that note, the stakes of the episode reach a new level, and the fight for the domination is still far from over.

SNOWPIERCER Season 4, Episode 6, titled “Bell the Cat,” marks the 36th episode in the series overall. Directed by Joe Menendez with a teleplay by Renée St. Cyr & Mateja Božičević, this intense chapter aired on August 25, 2024.

INDUSTRY SEASON 3 EPISODE 3 RECAP: ‘IT’

industry season 3 episode 3 recap

INDUSTRY SEASON 3 EPISODE 3 offers the viewers even more of the heated action set in the cut-throat world of investment banking at Pierpoint & Co. , where the consequences of Lumi’s catastrophic IPO do not cease to trouble the characters. With Lumi shares dropping, it is Pierpoint’s career on the line, and as for major tensions, Eric Tao (Ken Leung) and his crew focus on tackling the consequences during the climate change business congress in Switzerland. On the other hand, Harper Stern  (played by Mylah Harold) is on the other side of the company after getting fired from her job, and she is not pleased with it at all given the opportunity she lost; thus, Harper will stop at nothing to make her rivals regret this decision, not knowing that she too will experience new powers and new faces as part of this firm.

INDUSTRY SEASON 3 EPISODE 3 RECAP

The confernece is set and Eric is determined to come out of it a success he then drags Yasmin Kara-Hanani (Marisa Abela) and Robert  (Harry Loty) Spearing along with him. Robert seems to have a grudge with Henry Muck but he has been working with Lumi and would thus be of some help. All of them have to take a commercial flight to Switzerland but they are all seated on Henry Muck’s private jet even if Yasmin is given some preference over the other employees; she is allowed to sit in the same cabin as the owner of the jet, Henry, while the likes of Eric and Robert have to sit elsewhere. This is evident in how Henry prefers Yasmin in decision making, which shows that she has been gaining power in both Pierpoint and Lumi.
On the other hand, Harper Stern who was fired from Pierpoint has also moved and is now working at FutureDawn, which is a comparatively lesser known financial trading company. Realising her desire to return to the corporate finance world, Harper has been given an opportunity through Petra Koenig of FutureDawn act as the portfolio manager. Petra, who no longer believes in FutureDawn’s ESG investments, tries to diversify despite receiving a strong warning from the Internet company’s CEO, Anna Gearing (Elena Saurel).
industry season 3 episode 3 myha-la-sarah-goldberg-marisa-abela-
In this episode, Anna becomes revengeful with Petra Koenig (Sarah Goldberg) due to her rebellious nature. When Anna has offered Petra  a new contract with a raise in her paycheck she all the same obliges Petra to sign nonstandard conditions which do not allow her to make separate investments or to quit the company at will and risking heavy financial consequences. Petra gets dismissed and is adamant not to sign to the company before finally founding her own investment company and hiring Harper. Petra and Harper currently propose to woo clients from FutureDawn in the next climate change conference.
Thus the climate change conference emerges as a crucial turning point in the development of the united kingdom for all the central characters. Eric, Yasmin and Robert are the representatives from the Pierpoint Company while on the other hand Harper and Petra have also come with the intention of looking for investors for this new business venture. The last public session about Lumi is very important for developing reputation of Pierpoint. Eric, Henry, and Anna Gearing come out on the stage to discuss with Lumi his problems trying to put them in a favorable light.
In the middle of the session, a member of the audience poses the panel a challenging question about the relationship that natural gas prices have on entities such as Lumi. Forcing the question of the conference and pointing at its uselessness for Lumi, the question more represents the event as the funeral for the company’s initiative. Despite these assurances, the panelists attempt to, tension increases.
This episode can be taken as Harper getting back on Eric Tao who was blamed for her sack from Pierpoint. During the Lumi session, Harper comes with Petra and disrupts the entire program, mentioning Pierpoint’s analyst Frank Wade’s (Joel Kim Booster) report where Eric is involved as a culprit. This public confrontation places Eric in a very uncomfortable situation.
However, this causes a setback in Harper’s strategy and despite their poor times, Happer decides to go for the jugular much to the delight of Peter Fergusson a prominent businessman in the conference. It is for this reason Peter, a friend of Otto Mostyn, was shocked by Harper’s audacity, in return decides to fund Petra’s Leviathan project. Supported by Peter, Petra and Harper finally got the powers they need in order to withstand FutureDawn. The final scene that adds to humiliation of Eric is that Harper and Petra come close to Eric and Yasmin, this indicates that they are now rivals.
Yasmin’s intentions also come to light clearly in this episode as well. Although she seems to owe her allegiance to Pierpoint, she is behind the scheme of deceiving Henry Muck. Yasmin persuades Henry against Lumi and tells him to get back as much money as he could, and he informs the board his resignation as the CEO. This decision means the end of Lumi but Yasmin is only concern with her own financial sustainability. At the beginning of this episode o Yasmin discovers that her father’s yacht, which she believed to be an easy solution to all her financial problems, is currently under investigation and therefore it can not be sold. The only way to avoid financial ruin is to continue her partnership with Henry Muck.  By the end of this episode, Yasmin becomes a loyal friend of Petra and Harper and even provides them with important information in return for sales. This show that not only Yasmin is surviving but she is thriving and she has skills in both the worlds of finance.
That’s the best way to describe it after watching Episode 3 of Industry Season 3 because the events shifted into a whole new gear, and the stakes for the show’s central characters are higher than ever. I believe that Harper has completely gotten back at Eric, and that Yasmin’s motives have been revealed. Pierpoint is still at risk to suffer from declining reputation, yet, some new affiliations and animosities emerge. The last episode leaves the viewers in anticipation of power plays and individual retribution that are at the core of the series during the rest of the season.

Bravo Team is a part of the mission of DEA but the operation that takes place in Myanmar encounter a problem when Jason cancels the operation. His decision triggers a few questions, more so when Ray confronts him over the fact that he endangers the whole team. What seems to be an act to protect the team, Jason’s action is seen in this light by Ray who says: I’ve never known you to hog the spotlight or do anything that might get you or the team hurt willingly, but that’s what you’re doing here. One can easily understand that Jason has quite a lot of issues with his decision-making, and the team suffers from it.
There are also some scenes of humor in the show that make people laugh in between the more serious parts of the episode. Sonny eccentric belief in conspiracies also provides comedic tone in contrast with the main theme while Drew’s hazing is also funny. Another example of his wacky theories include that Amelia was eaten by a coconut crab, which brings a rather light-hearted sense to what would otherwise be a very serious episode.

During Bravo Team, new dynamics are incorporated in the show most of which are seen in this episode. The only ray of hope discovered in the movie is his relationship with Mandy Ellis played by Jessica Paré but even with her he never shows his true self. Their relations give him some stability, but it is seen that he hides a lot even from her that may lead to a potential problem in their relations.
So by the end of the episode, again, they’ll have achieved their mission, but there will be uncertainty about Jason, about his fight. Where as Ray plans his upcoming civilian life Bravo Team, the fact that Jason has a long way ahead of him before he finds the closure he needs.
The viewers are left with the uncertainty of Jason’s future and if he is capable of moving on from the experiences he has gone through. It is an addition to his character when he has to safeguard the civilians possibly because a civilian died during his time as a soldier in Clay’s death. However, now Bravo Team is not only struggling with external threats, but internal ones as well, and Jason is in the middle of it.

THE SERPENT QUEEN SEASON 2: IS ST. BARTHOLOMEW’S DAY MASSACRE A REAL EVENT?

THE SERPENT QUEEN SEASON 2: IS ST. BARTHOLOMEW’S DAY MASSACRE A REAL EVENT?

The Serpent Queen

In the most recent episode of The Serpent Queen, the drama brings out the St. Bartholomew’s Day Massacre in historical fiction and storytelling. But was this infamous event really as this depicted in the series? Now let’s go into the details of what happened at this point and how the show deals with it.

St. Bartholomew’s Day Massacre was, in fact, a real historical event that occurred in France on August 24 of 1572. This was a well coordinated and though attack against Protestants in France, known as the Huguenots. This massacre took place at a time when the French Catholics were fighting the Protestants, the Huguenots in what is now known as the French Wars of Religion.

The violence was first committed in Paris, but after the events expanded to other regions of the country. In a few days of violence more than a thousand Protestants were slain. The ‘butchery’, as Thomas called it, could have been the climax of the policy of religious persecution implemented by the leaders of the Catholic Church who perceived the followers of the Protestant faith as competitors for power.

As for the St. Bartholomew’s Day Massacre, the viewers note that its depiction is somehow connected with the show’s story that unfolds around Catherine de’ Medici, an actress Samantha Morton. As for the details of the stories, it is necessary to mention that the given massacre is a historic fact, however, the show distorts it a little. As in the case of many subsequent historical series, historical events are used with a focus on dramatization and character development, which are sometimes filled with fictions.

Thus, in this episode, Catherine (Samantha Morton) herself is depicted as girding for the masscre which gives the episode and added dimension of tension. In this aspect, the writers of the show have deviated from the real life occurrences and provided their take of the psychological and political consequences of the massacre through the characters.

It is no secret that this author likes to turn history into a play and add some passion into the story. Due to the combination of historical facts with the fictional storyline the show has become very interesting to the viewers. Despite the fact that the St. Bartholomew’s Day Massacre did happen, the series more often uses it as setting for the story and to explain characters’ actions than as an actual historical event.

This narrative technique is effective in enabling the show to explore interesting and intricate political and personal drama of the characters of that period, as well as to depict important historical events and figures in a dramatic manner. But the audience has to recall that though there are actual history space in the TV show, the details of the massacre, the relations of the characters are fictionalized only.

GG PRECINCT (Chinese: 正港分局 ) is a 2024 Taiwanese crime-comedy on Netflix. Created by Cheng Wei-hao and Yin Chen-hao, It is a prequel to the 2022 Taiwanese mystery-comedy film MARRY MY DEAD BODY. The plot is based around a replica killer in New Taipei City now, replicating the murder of a Chinese teacher Shui-yuan (Chih-Yuan Tai) who called himself the ‘Idiom Monster’ as he killed his students when they did not master idioms correctly some twenty years ago. The detectives of the Gia Gun precinct are able for some time to make nothing of these new murders and ultimately seek the assistance of Shui, the original murderer.

A security guard in the first series is killed mysteriously in a parking garage by a man dressed in a hood. This lays the basis for a number of subsequent bizarre murders throughout the city. Like those of the Idiom Monster each murder scene has been solved in a ritualistic manner where the victims’ bodies are blanketed in feathers and fish scales or their teeth have been removed.

The entire plot revolves around Wu Ming-han (Greg Hsu), a police detective who is coming back to work after being injured in the line of duty by a gunshot. Wu is happy to back at Gia Gun precinct, things becomes complicated when Lin Tzu-ching (Gingle Wang) is promoted as a captain to the post Wu was expecting an offer for. The two have to let bygones be bygones as the murders intensify in Brothers & Sisters.

The investigation of the killings is done by Wu and his team of detectives and Li Shu-fen, a profiler. It is the only way they can nab the copycat and in this case, the copycat is Hsu Shui-yuan who is serving his time in prison. Hsu who is as calm as Hannibal Lecter, assists them in giving them insights about the copycat, while emphasizing that the killer is not going to stop anytime soon.

It combines both humor and suspense in relation to the performance of Wu and his co-workers using their skills to solve the murders while at the same time portraying the crimes as absurd. GG PRECINCT is the new black on crime dramas because it comes with elements of mystery and comedy.

IS SHUI-YUAN (IDIOM MONSTER) A REAL-LIFE SERIAL KILLER?

Shui-yuan, also known as the Idiom Monster, is a fictional character from Netflix’s 2024 Taiwanese crime-comedy series GG PRECINCT. Although the character seems horrifying and realistic in the show, viewers should realize that Shui-yuan is a fictional person and not an actual serial killer. The character was originally developed for the series by the team of scriptwriters that included Cheng Wei-hao, Yin Chen-hao as well as Chou Man-you. Their purpose was to introduce elements of the ridiculous and the grotesque into the murder cases of the show and comedy at that.

In the show, Shui-yuan is an elementary teacher of Chinese language; he murders all his students because they could not master the usage of idioms. The writers who worked on the show and the movies wanted to present a complete buffoon, a ridiculous and at the same time deadly enemy and this idea was born. But what really makes it different from conventional crime mysteries and exciting at the same time is that the Idiom Monster kills for an utterly ridiculous reason that infuses the villain with a note of the absurd and a touch of comedy.

Even though the idea of the Idiom Monster is mere fiction, the way he kills and the fact that he is obsessed with idioms, puts him in some way as a real life serial killer. For example, Jeffrey Dahmer and Jack Unterweger who are some of the most infamous serial killers had some abnorma and bizarre behaviors. Dahmer had symptoms of being a cannibal, and was strange and horrifying, such as giving sandwiches to neighbours, which raise the question of whether people were eating human flesh. Likewise, Unterweger, an Austrian serial killer wrote and edited with his violent mind and slew people across Europe to feed his writing.

Albert Fish – largely involved in bloodthirsty and brutal acts in the early part of the 20th century, this man was particularly notorious for writing letters to the families of his victims, details of which depicted how he killed them. The Idiom Monster also threatens the detectives in the series through his baffling and crime-based creativity, based on idioms and literature, which form part of the psychological horror that the show portrays.

Of course the character makes one think of some real life psychos but he, in essence, is a chimera, a figment of the creative writer’s imagination whose perverse and mind-boggling actions are intended to underscore the mind boggling and perverse nature of his acts.

Having such real-life experiences in their mind helped the writers of GG PRECINCT develop a character who really seems to come alive although Shui-yuan is purely fictional. This cocktail of the love for literature and writing, violent criminal acts, and quite sick reasoning makes the Idiom Monster one of the most outstanding TV show villains of recent years.

IS PEACOCK’S THE KILLER (2024) BASED ON A TRUE STORY?

the killer 2024

The upcoming action thriller ‘THE KILLER’ (2024) to be premiered on Peacock is directed by John Woo. This action-packed movie stars Nathalie Emmanuel, Omar Sy, Sam Worthington, Diana Silvers, Saïd Taghmaoui, and the newcomer Hugo Diego Garcia. The film focuses on a professional killer who gains the attentions of his employers as a target after a failed job. This time he becomes aware of betrayal, violence and deception and he discovers a network of lies which can change his life. A story of revenge and an individual’s attempt to change and find redemption as well as theme of retributive violence in the Algerian war of independence. In the universe created by John Woo, concerns of treachery, honor, and atonement are not just dominant, but real.

IS PEACOCK’S ‘THE KILLER’ A TRUE STORY?

THE KILLER movie is not based on a true story. All the story writing and the characters are just fit for an action hero movie and are purely fictitious. Though, the movie is a remake of the innovative John Woo’s masterpiece of the 1989 named THE KILLER which is unforgettable in the action movies’ catalogue.

THE KILLER 2024 is a remake of Woo’s Hong Kong film of the same title released in 1989 that starred Chow Yun-fat, Danny Lee, and Sally Yeh. The original version had Chow Yun-fat as Ah Jong, an experienced killer who during a firing incident, shoots and blinds a singer. The film is about a man who tries to reform and in order to do so, he takes one final job in order to pay for her medical bills. This movie packed all the action one could wish for; the drama was as touching as needed; the ideas of honor and friendship, the uneasy duo of the hitman and the police detective.

Woo’s THE KILLER (1989) paid much respect to the style and methodology of such directors as Sam Peckinpah, Don Siegel and Jean-Pierre Melville. In particular, Melville’s 1967 film Le Samouraï about an existential hit man, have left a deep impact on Woo’s manner of portraying the human feelings and the ethical code of contract killers. The intense action scenes, shootouts covering most of the screen time, and melodramatic story made the 1989 film a cult movie; it prepared Woo for work in Hollywood.

The new version of the reminder for the year 2024, brings new conditions to the story and this makes it attractive for the contemporary community. The decision of John Woo to change gender of the protagonist narrated by Nathalie Emmanuel as Zee – skillful assassin reflecting the role of Chow Yun-fat. Omar Sy would portray Sey, a cop to be who will somewhat work hand in hand with Zee in a Woodard-foster like fashion.

Compared to the original 1989’s film, the new one is far more psychological with the specifics of the main character’s morality and his loyal to his friend. There are also matters of style: the locale is switched from Hong Kong to Paris; there are new characters, such as a cabaret singer named Jenn, who, like in the original, suffers temporary blindness during a shooting spree.

Even though the basic plot line is present something new is added and modified which makes it seem as if the movie is telling a new story. Thanks to Woo’s director’s chair THE KILLER (2024) continues that tradition and adds more layers to its action-packed plot that address more profound psychological and emotional issues.

Though THE KILLER is not based on a true story, Woo habitually introduces ethical dilemmas into human experience to confuse his characters and set them into a conflict of good and evil. In this version set in 2024, Omar Sy is Sey, a French cop involved in an uneasy cooperation with Zee.

In other words, despite the thundering, heart-pounding feeling that THE KILLER may impress, it is completely fictional in Woo’s mind. The film which shares much with filmmakers such as Jean-Pierre Melville and Sam Peckinpah, or with Woo’s love for operatics, has little to do with reality. Woo’s direction is schemed in such a way as to fulfill the need for action and at the same time to provide the audience with a multi-dimensional look at her characters.

Victoria Pedretti - the last day

Good news for the fans of Victoria Pedretti. The critically acclaimed star of The Haunting of Hill House and cult drama series You will appear in a new movie called The Last Day. The movie is to go on production on the 4th of October in the year 2024 in New York. The project is written, directed by Rachel Rose, and produced by Lucie Elwes and David Kaplan for the company, which will also star the Tomb Raider actress Alicia Vikander.

The Last Day is based on Virginia Woolf’s fictional novel “Mrs. Dalloway” published in 1925, but it is only its free screen adaptation. Memory and time are salient aspects in the story as are teh inner workings of characters in the story. Woolf’s Mrs. Dalloway involves the day in the life of Clarissa Dalloway a lady who lives in England after the World War 1. Clarissa prepares for a party throughout the day and ponders her past mistakes and relationships. Septimus Warren Smith, a Second World War veteran suffering from what was, at the time, referred to as a nervous breakdown is also introduced in the novel, whose story also intersects with that of Clarissa. Two characters meditate on profound questions of one’s existence, so the novel became one of the key works of modernist literature.

Details about how, precisely, The Last Day will recreate this traditional narrative have yet to be revealed; however, the film most likely concern itself with the internal quality and the contemplative tenor of Woolf’s novel. Given the opportunity, the film have the potential to do justice to this kind of storytelling and make these universal stories appeal to a contemporize cast of characters.

Rachel Rose – the director and writer of the piece – has a number of award-winning films to her credit that are famous for their accurate and sensitive approach to the subject matter. Bringing Victoria Pedretti and Alicia Vikander on the team ups the ante on star power and talent to a movie that will be dramatic and moving. In particular, the casting director, Rebecca Dealy, has to be right in choosing the actors who will incarnate such characters.
