The episode is called “Missing While Lonely,” and it starts with a haunting flash forward to a hurt Detective Trent, which hints at a sad turn in the search for Lacey Quinn. As tensions rise over Lacey’s fate—the episode jumps between high-stakes investigations and personal fights, making Gabi and Sir’s relationship even more mysterious and tense.
Found Season 2 Episode 3 Recap: Flash Forward: A Shocking Revelation
A scary flash-forward 36 hours into the future starts the episode. Detective Trent (Brett Dalton), who looks hurt and upset, talks to the press about the kidnapping of Lacey Quinn. “The kidnapping of Lacey Quinn (Gabrielle Walsh) has not had the ending that we had hoped for,” he says with a crack in his voice. Because his words are so scary, they make people wonder if Lacey is dead. The same way a reporter asks if Sir killed Lacey, Trent doesn’t get to answer. After the scene ends quickly, there is a heavy feeling of unease and fear.
Margaret’s Fear and Dhan’s Discovery
As the story moves back to the present, the tension rises. When Dhan (Karan Oberoi) goes into Gabi’s house, he finds a strange note on yellow legal paper. There’s no doubt that he’s angry, but the note’s meaning is still unknown.
In the meantime, Margaret (Kelli Williams), who is desperately trying to find out what’s wrong with Lacey, runs into the hospital. It makes people think that something bad has happened to Lacey even more. When we go back to Gabi (Shanola Hampton), Sir says in a scary voice that no one will ever get in their way again, which means the stakes are rising.
Sir’s Escalation and Christian’s Plea
Gabi goes to the public payphone where Sir (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) called her before and finds that it has been set on fire. This is a sign that Sir is getting worse. She looks at Dhan and tells him, “Sir just made things worse.” This sets the tone for the rest of the episode, in which Sir keeps trying to control Gabi and the situation in a dangerous way.
In a different scene, Sir meets up with his younger brother Christian Evans (Michael Cassidy). Christian tries to get his brother to stop bothering Gabi and her family by calling him “delusional” and pleading with him to do so. Sir, on the other hand, doesn’t care about his brother’s worries and gives Christian a scary choice: he must leave Washington, D.C., or else. Christian doesn’t pay attention to the threat, but later he says he feels bad that he didn’t help catch Sir after Gabi and Lacey escaped twenty years ago. He is also scared after learning that Sir may have killed their mother and burned down their house to hide it.
Betty Conley’s Case and Sir’s Obsession
While dealing with Sir’s growing threat, Gabi takes on a new case: the mysterious disappearance of Elizabeth Becka‘s character, Betty Conley, a wealthy real estate mogul. Betty disappeared right before she got married to Ivan Samuels (Matthew Alan), who was found guilty of killing the drunk driver who killed his daughter. Gabi thinks Sir might relate to Ivan’s “misunderstood” persona and hopes that this will get him to come out of hiding. She tells her team, “[Sir] will see himself in Ivan, a man who is misunderstood and wants to fight for the woman he loves.” He will begin again.
Gabi fakes a dramatic fainting spell during a live press conference to get Sir’s attention. Sir watches in shock as Gabi falls down. Even though the plan works and Sir calls Gabi— he hangs up right away when she asks him about Lacey.
Ivan, Eric, and a Family Conflict
Even though Detective Trent is mad at Gabi, he reluctantly agrees to help look into what happened to Betty Conley. Gabi and Trent talk to Betty’s son Eric (Jonathan Baron) and her fiancé Ivan Samuels, who are both important players. Both men tell different stories. Ivan seems to really care about Betty’s well-being, while Eric says Ivan wants Betty’s money.
Eric is very upset that his mother chose to leave all of her property to Ivan as the only beneficiary of her will. He wants to set up a conservatorship to keep her assets in his care. He has a lot of money problems and is afraid that Ivan is still taking advantage of his mother for money while he is in jail. At the same time, Ivan denies that he is running a prison empire on Betty’s money. He even denies the idea that he paid for Betty’s murder through a former prisoner named Patrick Abbott so that he could inherit her money.
The fight and Trent’s injury
During the stakeout outside of Abbott’s house, Gabi and Trent’s anger finally comes to a head. Gabi finally talks about why she held Sir hostage all those years ago. She says it was because she was crazy with grief over the death of her father. She thought getting even was the only way to deal with things. If she had told him, Trent says, Sir would be locked up now instead of causing trouble for everyone she cares about.
Their talk is cut short when Abbott tries to run away. As Trent tries to catch him, he gets hit in the face, which connects to the cuts we saw in the flash-forward. Gabi helps hold Abbott down, and Trent arrests him. But Abbott has a perfect explanation for why Betty didn’t go missing during that time.
Sir’s Manipulation and the Truth About Betty’s Disappearance
Just as it looks like the investigation has reached a dead end, Sir calls Gabi again and hints that someone wanted to keep Betty and Ivan apart out of love, not money. Gabi understands that Sir’s skewed view of the situation is similar to Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, in which love ends in tragedy.
It turns out that Betty’s lawyer, Mark Craig (Pat Dortch), was the one who took her. Gabi changes the focus of the investigation to him. Mark thought Ivan was brainwashing Betty and hoped that his wife, who is a behavioral therapist, could help him stop it. The couple is caught, and Betty is kept safe. There is good news: the trouble has brought her and her son Eric closer together. She thanks Gabi for her help.
Found Season 2 Episode 3 Recap: Gabi’s Meeting with Sir
In the last few seconds of the episode, Gabi finds Sir and is determined to end his reign of terror. Gabi lies to her team and leads them on a wild goose chase while she goes to talk to Sir by herself. She finds him at the house where she grew up, and Sir tells Gabi that she has to go with him this time.
Just when things look bad, Lacey, who is barely awake, cuts Sir in the back with a pair of scissors. Gabi tells Lacey, “If you kill him, you become me.” If you cross this line, you will be broken. Gabi calls for help when Lacey passes out again.
From the first scene, the episode goes back to the press conference. When Detective Trent is asked again if Lacey Quinn is still alive— she says, “Lacey Quinn has been found but she is still in critical condition.” We’re not sure if she’ll make it…
