As the second season of Apple TV+‘s Dark Matter begins filming in Chicago—Jason Dessen and his family are prepared for another exciting voyage through the multiverse. With a shooting schedule that spans February 10 to September 15, 2025—viewers can be sure that the mind-bending sci-fi drama will continue.
Joel Edgerton plays Jason again, with Oakes Fegley playing their son Charlie and Jennifer Connelly as Daniela. In addition, Jimmi Simpson plays Ryan, Dayo Okeniyi plays Leighton Vance, Amanda Brugel plays Blair and Alice Braga plays Amanda. The second season is expected to build on the intricate plotlines that were introduced in the first, with Alik Sakharov returning as director and Blake Crouch and Jacquelyn Ben-Zekry serving as showrunners.
With “Entanglement,” the Season 1 finale, viewers were left with a lot of questions and options. Thanks to Jason #02’s change of heart, Jason #01 was able to leave with his family. The Dessens entered a another universe through The Box, but it’s unclear if this new reality is safe.
Their lives have become more dangerous due to the multiverse’s limitless possibilities. Their escape was made more difficult by Daniela’s choice to get in touch with other Jason variations; which led to conflicts that would last into the second season. As their relationship with The Box strengthens, other characters like Amanda and Ryan are probably going to take center stage.
What Will Happen to the Dessens Next?
The wonders of the universe will be further explored in Season 2. The probable emergence of Dawn as a major opponent was one of the new problems that were alluded to in the first season’s finale. Jason’s family’s new life may come into contact with Blaire and Leighton’s ongoing quest for utopia.
The series’ and the book’s creator, Blake Crouch, has hinted that the second season would include even more surprises. New universes, perilous Jason variations, and a greater understanding of the workings of the multiverse are all in store for viewers.
The potential for Jason, Daniela, and Charlie appears to be as boundless as the multiverse itself as fans anxiously await Season 2. The second season of Dark Matter is expected to be an exciting journey, with filming already under way and the prospect of more intense drama.
