The next third season of the crime thriller Bosch: Legacy is officially going to be the last one, so fans should be ready for an emotional sendoff. According to announcements made by Amazon Freevee and Prime Video, this will be the last installment of the cherished Bosch spin-off, which has captured audiences’ attention for ten years.
Titus Welliver‘s portrayal of Harry Bosch began with Bosch, which traced the intriguing cases of the retired LAPD detective who became a private investigator. Bosch: Legacy carried on that narrative, expanding on the nuanced interactions between Bosch, his daughter Maddie (Madison Lintz), a rookie LAPD cop, and lawyer Honey “Money” Chandler (Mimi Rogers).
The third season of Bosch: Legacy will bring the story to a close, but the Bosch Universe will live on. Additionally, a brand-new, unnamed spinoff series starring Maggie Q as cold case investigator Renée Ballard has been confirmed by Prime Video. “Bosch and Bosch: Legacy have been two of our most defining series for Prime Video and Freevee for the past ten years,” said Vernon Sanders, Head of Television at Amazon MGM Studios, in a statement. With the conclusion of Bosch: Legacy and the next Ballard series, Michael, Titus, and the creative team will have more captivating tales to share in the Bosch universe.
Michael Connelly, the show’s creator and executive producer, had similar feelings and expressed his delight in what the program has accomplished. When I asked Titus Welliver ten years ago if he could continue playing Harry Bosch for five seasons, he said that he could do so indefinitely. Harry Bosch is not out of our lives yet. This statement raises the possibility that Bosch, like in Connelly’s novels, may return to a prominent part in the new Ballard series.
