The world of shadows of technology and societies will continue to deepen soon as Black Mirror Season 7 is going to be filmed. This new season is set to begin production in London on September 27, 2024, though the plot and timeframe will obviously differ from the prior season, tuning the viewers in to the series’ usual delivery of the disturbing impact of modern technology through satire.
The new season is expected to go on production in just a few weeks, which will solidify Black Mirror’s place back on the television as one of the platforms with the most mind-bending narratives. Shooting in London, the show has many interesting landscapes and actual textures of the modern megacity which should bring a specific mood to the series.
The series creator and writer is Charlie Brooker so it means that the show will remain as provocative as before. With him are David Slade and Toby Haynes on directing duties in the new episode.
The team that will be in charge of the production will comprise of the Line producer, Simon Bird, the producers Annabel Jones, Mark Kinsella, Jessica Rhodes, and Richard Webb. It is believed that due to their experience they should capture the essence of Brooker’s vision at par with the impeccable quality that has been seen in the series.
The cinematographer for the season is Stephan Pehrsson who will maintain the series’ creepy and environ-based shots and feels, and Jina Jay will be the Casting Director for the series.
Of course, Black Mirror will features a few stand-alone episodes, but each episode will be centered around the different aspects of technological darkness. There is drama, psychological horror, political satire, and more rarely but perhaps more unexpectedly, romantic comedy, in the show set to go on dissecting modern fears and phantasms.
The next season looks as if it’s going to explore the darker side of the digital age further, which seems to be the direction Brooker is interested in observing the society’s dynamic relationship with. Armchair, fans will be presented with controversy and food for though, and probably some rude shocks as well.
As of now, Black Mirror Season 7 is scheduled to be released on Netflix in 2025. The exact release date has not been announced yet, but the production is expected to wrap up in late 2024 or early 2025, leading up to the release later in the year. Keep an eye out for official announcements from Netflix for the precise release date!
