In the countdown to Riverdale’s highly anticipated conclusion, the show is sparing no expense in assembling an impressive lineup of guest stars for its remaining four episodes. In recent episodes, the series reintroduced four beloved cast members from earlier seasons, and we can expect the arrival of another highly anticipated fan-favorite soon. In an exciting update, it has been officially confirmed that the talented Ashleigh Murray will be making a highly anticipated return to the screen as she reprises her beloved role as Josie McCoy.
Who is Josie McCoy in Riverdale?
Josie McCoy, a Riverdale High School student, was first presented in the series’ inaugural episode in 2017. Josie was a brilliant guitarist and vocalist who was a member of the well-known female group “Josie and the Pussycats.” In addition, the ensemble includes Hayley Law’s Valerie and Asha Ashanti’s Melody.
Josie and the Pussycats displayed their musical skills and gave performances at numerous Riverdale events throughout the season. The band, however, broke up as the event went on, and Josie made the decision to pursue a solo music career. She took her father on a tour toward the conclusion of Season 3.
Josie McCoy’s portrayer Ashleigh Murray made cameo appearances in later seasons of “Riverdale.” She made an appearance in the Season 4 episode dedicated to Fred Andrews, played by Luke Perry. She also made a comeback in Season 5 when Josie stopped her tour to ask her friends for assistance in figuring out what happened to her father.
Furthermore, in the “Riverdale” spin-off series “Katy Keene,” which debuted in 2020, Ashleigh Murray played Josie McCoy once more. Josie was one of the characters that “Katy Keene” followed as she pursued her aspirations in New York City.
