The fourteenth season of Blue Bloods has been an intense emotional journey—replete with suspenseful scenes, unexpected turns and personal growth for the Reagan family. Fans have seen Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, and the rest of the cast come back to face new problems as the show nears its end. In Episode 11, “Life Sentence,” Erin Reagan’s career is in danger, Jamie has an emotional connection to the car that belonged to his late brother Joe and an unknown juror puts Erin in a tough spot. In the middle of all the stress, though, fans got a nice surprise: Steve Schirripa’s beloved dog Willie made an appearance!
The dog of Steve Schirripa Willie Shows Up!
This cameo was a sweet surprise for fans of Steve Schirripa, who plays Anthony Abetemarco. Many people love Schirripa’s dachshund, Willie Boy, and his Instagram is full of cute pictures and videos of the two of them together. In Episode 11, Anthony brings Willie in as a comfort dog for him. It’s a short but memorable scene. In a funny twist Willie’s character on the show has the same name as him in real life, which makes him even cuter!
Even though Blue Bloods is known for telling serious, crime-based stories—the cast and crew still know how to have fun. Willie’s cameo is another example of the personal touches that make the show so beloved. For example, the show has made subtle references to Donnie Wahlberg’s time on New Kids on the Block.
It was a sweet moment in an otherwise intense episode that Willie Boy came in for a short time. Also, who doesn’t love watching cute dogs on TV?
