Agatha All Along: Meet Billy’s Parents: Jeff and Rebecca Kaplan

Date:

In the most recent episode of Agatha All Along, a big puzzle about the character Teen (Joe Locke) was solved. Billy Maximoff is the son of Wanda Maximoff, called the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), and may be known to fans of Marvel’s WandaVision. But Billy’s story in Agatha All Along isn’t over yet; he has another name, William Kaplan. Let’s find out more about Billy, meet his parents, and see who plays them.

Who is Billy Maximoff?

Billy Maximoff was first seen in WandaVision. He is a magical product of Wanda’s ability to change reality. At first, he wasn’t a real person; he was Wanda’s sadness and wants projected onto him. But in Agatha All Along, the show shows that Billy’s ghost has taken over the body of a real boy named William Kaplan. This change happened at a key point in the story, when Wanda’s magical hex fell over Westview and changed the way things were.

When Billy feels strong feelings, his Wiccan powers start to show. This happens more often since Alice’s death in Episode 5, when a major character. By Episode 6, his journey as a young hero is the main focus.

Meet Billy’s Parents: Jeff and Rebecca Kaplan

William Kaplan is Billy’s new body, and he lives with Jeff and Rebecca Kaplan, who adopted him. The Kaplans are a normal Jewish pair who live in Eastview, which is close to Westview. We find out that Wanda’s falling hex caused a terrible accident on the day of William Kaplan’s Bar Mitzvah, which is a surprise. During this event, William Kaplan died, and Billy Maximoff’s spirit took over his body. From that point on, Jeff and Rebecca have been raising Billy Maximoff in William’s body without realizing it.

The Kaplans are still taking care of their son, who is now a teenager, even though they don’t know about the magic switch. As Billy fights with his new identity as William Kaplan—he starts to remember parts of his old life as Billy Maximoff. This affects their lives.

Who Plays Billy’s Parents?

Jeff Kaplan played by Paul Adelstein

A lot of people liked Adelstein when he played Paul Kellerman on Prison Break and then Cooper Freedman in Private Practice. He has also been in the TV shows Scandal and Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce. Adelstein brings warmth and depth to the role of Jeff Kaplan, playing a father who is dealing with his son’s slight changes without knowing where they come from magically.

Rebecca Kaplan played by Maria Dizzia

Maria Dizzia, who plays Rebecca Kaplan, is an accomplished actress with a strong background in stage and screen. She’s perhaps best known for her roles in Orange is the New Black and 13 Reasons Why. Rebecca is played by Dizzia in a way that makes her seem like a worried mother who knows her son is acting differently but can’t quite put her finger on it. The loving presence of her adds emotional depth to Billy’s bond with his adopted parents.

Episode 6: Billy’s Transformation

In Episode 6, fans learn about Billy’s past as Billy Maximoff and how it relates to his present life as William Kaplan. At the beginning of the show, Billy is getting ready for his Bar Mitzvah, which is a big Jewish ceremony for coming of age. This stage of becoming an adult is similar to Billy’s own change as his skills start to fully show. While they are with him, his parents, Jeff and Rebecca, don’t know what’s going on.

The episode also talks about the time Billy’s soul entered William Kaplan’s body after a car crash that almost killed him. Their car swerved, which caused a terrible crash, as the family tried to get away from the chaos caused by Wanda’s hex failing. His parents lived while Billy was asleep, and that’s when Billy Maximoff changed his name to William Kaplan.

During the episode, Billy starts to remember things from his past. He can hear what his parents are thinking and feels like something is wrong with who he is. He has a hard time bringing his two selves together. As Billy continues to learn about his past and accept his Wiccan skills, this episode gives us a taste of the problems he will face in the future.

Our first meeting with Billy Maximoff in WandaVision became more complicated as he goes through his journey in Agatha All Along. Now that he is William Kaplan, Billy has to deal with the challenges of being a magical hero and getting along with his adoptive parents, Jeff and Rebecca, who don’t know who he is. Episode 6 adds to the mystery and excitement about Billy’s future in the Marvel world, with great acting from Paul Adelstein and Maria Dizzia as his parents. Read Full Recap Here.
