Who Is New Jonathan Kent in Superman & Lois Season 3?

Date:

In Superman & Lois, Jonathan “Jon” Kent, one of Clark Kent and Lois Lane’s twin sons, started as quarterback for the Metropolis High School varsity football team when he was a freshman. Lois Lane was the reporter who introduced the Kents to the world. Their more reserved son, Jordan, was the one who ended up following in his father’s legacy as a superhero, despite the fact that Lois and Clark were concerned that Jon’s natural abilities were an indication that he was progressively obtaining Kryptonian superpowers. Despite being challenged by his superpowered counterpart from Bizarro World, Jon unexpectedly supported his brother and hardly ever displayed jealousy of his abilities. The role of Jonathan Kent was replaced in Superman and Lois’s third season, but it’s unclear why. And Who Is New Jonathan Kent in Superman & Lois? Let’s dive into Superman’s world.

Who Is New Jonathan Kent in Superman & Lois Season 3?

In September 2023, nearly one month after it was reported that Jordan Elsas would be leaving his role as Jonathan Kent, the casting of actor Michael Bishop as the new Jonathan Kent for Superman and Lois season 3 was finalized. In his home nation of Australia, where he was born and raised, Bishop has established himself as a successful young actor thanks to his part as Teddy in the tv series Grace Besides Me.

In addition, you might recognize him from his roles in the short films Skin Like Bark, Swinging Safari,   Skin Like Bark, Detention, Pet Rock, Hunter, and Gatherer, Indiana, and Shelter. In 2021, Bishop made his debut on American television performing the title character of Max the dreamy British classmate in the movie Spin, which was broadcast on Disney Channel. Kimberly Kottwitz at Brave Artists Management and Gilchrist Management represent Bishop.

Due to recent personnel changes at The CW and Warner Bros. Discovery, the future of Superman and Lois is in jeopardy, which in turn casts doubt on Michael Bishop’s status in the Arrowverse. Despite DC co-CEO James Gunn‘s assurances that “it’s going to keep going for a little bit,” speculation has arisen that Superman and Lois season 3 will be the series’ last. Nonetheless, Michael Bishop will get at least one season to show.

Why did Jordan Elsass leave Superman & Lois?

In August 2022, Warner Bros. TV announced that Jordan Elsass, the actor who created the part of Jonathan Kent on Superman and Lois, would not be returning for the show’s third season. As of the original airdate, Elsass’s departure from the show was not explained. A Cameo video explaining Jordan Elsass’s choice was posted later that month on his social media. For reasons related to his mental health, Jordan Elsass has decided to take a vacation from acting, despite his enthusiasm for the upcoming third season of Superman and Lois.

On Tuesday, March 14, 2019, the third season of Superman and Lois will make its debut on The CW.
