9-1-1: Lone Star: Meet Campbell: There are no doubts that the fans of the 9-1-1: Lone Star, which is having its fifth and the last season will be happy to witness the appearance of Campbell portrayed by Parker Young. Best known for his characters in Enlisted and Suburgatory, Young will play a Texas Ranger to the series and the character he portrays is intended to ruffle some feathers. It will feature his character pairing up with Carlos Reyes, who fans of the series will fondly recall, which creates an interesting twist.
In an interview with showrunner Rashad Raisani, viewers have learned that Campbell’s connection with Carlos is not a standard one. Despite their initial “brotherly” clashes, the two men develop a strong, complementary bond while solving cases. When totally in love, Raisani calls it ‘special’ chemistry for which the journey of this pair promises a great ride. Raisani goes as far as suggesting that there could be a spinoff in the series that relates the fairly new partnership between Campbell and Carlos.
Sam Campbell’s arrival is not only about solving some cases, as we can see. It is evident that Carlos and T.K. ’s friendship will have many problems in season 5. T. K. has enough to deal with when he learns that his brother was knee deep into a life changing revelation about their past and on the other hand, Carlos is determined to find out who killed his father. This mounting pressure could put their marriage to the extreme it has not been before.
As for Parker Young, the path that led him to this role is best described as a passion and determination. Young was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona and he first intended to play football for a living but a theater competition in high school influenced his decision. Sponsored by his drama teacher he decided to pursue the career of an actor and later got major parts in TV and movies.
What to Expect in Season 5
The show, 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 is well known for its intense storylines and dramatic scenes which seem to be the hallmarks of the next season. Campbell’s character is refreshing in the show not only because she brings a new flavor to the show, thereby changing the lives of Carlos and T. K.
With the Texas Ranger set to shoot to the small screens on September 23, all eyes are already on how this character will manage the smooth translation from being in this duo with Carlos and the possible future development of the relationship between the two characters.
